Aamena Vachiat

Aamena is the founder of the Heart for Health Cardiac Rehabilitation programme. An academic at heart, she was awarded the University of Witwatersrand Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for being one of the top ten applicants to the university in 2003. She completed her undergraduate physiotherapy degree cum laude in 2006; and completed her Masters in physiotherapy in 2011.

Aamena’s passion is rooted in providing evidence-based holistic care for patients, ensuring that every  patient  feels supported during  his/her recovery journey. She has a special interest in working with patients who have  chronic conditions.

Services provided:In patient physiotherapy assessment and treatment. Holistic assessment of patient’s needs and referral to appropriate members within the cardiac rehab team.

Sakina Limbada

Sakina Limbada holds a Professional Coach accreditation (PCC) from the International Coach Federation and has been credentialed by COMENSA (the South African body of professional coaches) as a Senior Coach Practitioner. She also holds a degree in journalism and teaching.

Sakina works with hundreds of clients from all around the world, coaching people on various challenges ranging from insecurities and anxiety to stress triggers and conflict management. Sakina guarantees changes and results from the first few sessions and aims to have the patient independently using the tools and skills she provides within a six-session timeframe. Sakina assists patients in reframing their perceptions to empower themselves to live a happier and more lighthearted existence. She has had 100% results and comes highly recommended.

Tasneem van de Biezen

Tasneem is a registered Counselling Psychologist practicing in Parktown North in Johannesburg. She has been in practice for over 12 years having qualified with her MA (Couns Psych) from Wits University in 2009.

Following her qualification Tasneem spent several years in corporate executive training and coaching where she facilitated and coached executive and management teams at Nedbank, Wesbank, Investec, Telesure Holdings, Tracker and Sun International, to name a few. Additionally she has previously worked in and consulted to government hospitals and community clinics, and she has participated in a Chronic Pain Management team at Donald Gordan where she was part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on the management of patients with chronic pain.

A lot of Tasneem’s work focuses on the bidirectional communication between body and brain and the implications of these on recovery, management and rehabilitation from serious health concerns.

Faaizah Laher

Faaizah studied dietetics at the University of the Free State, then went on to complete her community service at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. She is a member of the Association of Dietetics South Africa (ADSA),  and a spokesperson for ADSA where she is regularly on radio or writing articles for magazines. Being an avid learner she is up to date with all her CNE points and articles. She has also completed her DNAlysis course, the PCOS course and the PCOS Centre in the USA and KDIGO dietitian’s course.

Gayle Landau

Gayle Landau is a Registered Dietician, having completed her BSc ( Medical Honours) in Nutrition and Dietetics at UCT in 1998. Since qualifying she has been fortunate to work in the private hospital sector. She has gained experience from working in ICU, neuro- physical rehab, surgical & medical wards.  She cares for adults in her private practice and is based at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Parktown Johannesburg.

She has completed the Centre for Diabetes (CDE) advanced course in Diabetes Care for Health Professionals .  She is affiliated to the colorectal unit at Wits Donald Gordon and has been accredited by  EatFitSA to run their IBS/ Low Fodmap and digestive health programmes. Gayle is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa  and a member of both SASPEN and  ADSA.   She recently helped establish NON-Diet South Africa
